Adding an Accessory Dwelling Unit

Recently we met a couple that was referred to us by an old client we previously worked with that were looking to add an extension to they’re home for their eldest son to move into. The family shared with us their vision and requirements for this new space we would be creating for them. After our initial meeting we started to put together some ideas for how we envisioned the new ADU could be. With a few minor changes the family was happy with the plan and gave us the green light to move ahead.

Accessory dwelling units are usually much smaller in size compared to the main house and require the use of modern building techniques and design in order to make the most of the limited space available. We were able to include a modern looking and fully functional kitchen with a large area for the bedroom which included its own bathroom and shower. Using smart designs we were able to fit all the necessities needed including a washing machine and dryer in such a small space. Needless to say, the family was overjoyed with the end result.

Without BPR's hard work and dedication we can't make our dream come true. Actually with our team work and brainstorming turned out way much better than I ever imagined.
Evy was our main project manager and he trully rocked it. Bar did the inspections.
This two professional went above and beyond our expectations. Their teams built for us 3 patios, a patio cover with fan and lights, 100 feet retaining wall, proper drainage , sprinkler system and real grass .
The list was long what needed to be done ( we bought a project house ) . Now all done.
We enjoying our relaxation time daily " vacation" in La Patio and Los Backyardos.

Super excited to have the landscaping at our new home in Menifee completed by Better Place! I was only interested in the lowest maintenance landscaping possible. And after meeting with Mike and explaining my ideas, he created a design that looks absolutely beautiful. Mike captured my personality and he listened to my thoughts. He quoted an estimated timeline and the project was completed very quickly even before anticipated and scheduled.

Once the project began, the communication continued when Arturo took time to meet with me and go over the fine details of the design. I appreciate the time that both Mike and Arturo extended in making this project a reality for me.

I had a question for the office and they were also very professional, helpful and responding quickly with answering my questions. Such a great company to do business with!

Pulling into my driveway now is a relief and many neighbors have complimented the work done! Thank you Better Place for completing this project for me.

My wife and I hired Better Place Remodeling on May 7, 2020, and our project was completed on August 31, 2020. Evi was the first person with whom we made in-person contact, and let me tell you, he exuded nothing but professionalism, courtesy, and respect to both my wife and me! Having hired F.A.T. Construction prior under the general foreman Tony Chavez and having a VERY POOR experience with that contractor, my wife and I were very skeptical, to say the least. Evi quickly earned our trust and our business through his constant contact and updates. He always kept my wife in the loop with all major decisions during the project. Had I not continuously kept adding more to the project, Evi and his crew would have finished a lot sooner than expected. Evi even went so far as to bring us his favorite type of coffee direct from Israel as we had a good working relationship. The one time I got frustrated at the job was nothing to do with Better Place Remodeling, but rather the City of Escondido with their slow permit approval process due to COVID-19. Even though this wasn't Evi's fault, he even brought me Starbucks coffee one night and further explained the backlog of permits. I also would like to send a shout-out to Barr and to Evi's top Landscaper Herman. Barr stepped in and helped Evi with our project when Evi's plate was full. Barr also exuded the same professionalism, courtesy, and respect to both my wife and me! Herman? What can I say? The guy has landscaping skills! Let him make suggestions to you and be open-minded about them-you will not be disappointed! Thanks, Evi, Barr, and Herman for such tremendous work on our home!

My wife and I have been wanting to fix up our yard for the longest time and finally decided to pull the trigger. We called many different businesses and Better Place was the most responsive and professional one that we spoke to.

Leo, our project manager, spent hours going over the project scope and how every item was going to be installed. We had a few ideas of what we wanted and Leo was able to give us different ideas and alternatives that would cut the cost for us. We ultimately decided to go with some of his ideas because it saved a good amount of material costs. Once we finalized all the details, they began working immediately the next day. We were looking leave town for a few weeks and Leo was confident it would be completed before we left.

Caesar, the team lead, came with his team and completed our entire backyard in three days! We were so happy with the work that we decided to have them work on the front yard as well just to get the entire place completed.

It was a great experience the entire time and I would recommend anyone to work with Better Place!

Simply the "Best!" Ofek and his crew exceeded my expectation of the finished project. I met Ofek on March 2 and he clearly explained the stages of construction, financing, design recommendation, and pretty much answered all my questions. He is friendly, courteous and maintained a good communication from start to the completion of the project. His crew is very efficient. They started the demo the very next day and they always clean after at the end of every work day. The quality of work is of the highest standard. I gave them a call and asked for a quote. The following week Clay came by and i showed him what we wanted to be done on our front yard, side yard and back yard. After he did the sketch and we all agreed to the price. Clay and his crew came the next day and started the project right away. He contact us via call or text just to made sure everything was ok. Remodeled our backyard with our project manager Leo. We renovated in the Spring/Summer 2022 at the height of supply-chain shortages and US economic inflation, so inflated pricing reflected that and we understood. WE VALUE COMMUNICATION OVER PRICE. We've heard disasters from friends who went with remodeling companies that were much more affordable, but had issues with getting supplies, scheduling problems, or bad communication.

Leo had good communication and was on site 2-3x a week while construction workers came Mon-Sat, approx 8am-4pm. We had a deadline, so Leo made sure he had his workers come 6 days/week to complete the project on time. Any issues, questions, or flaws during the ongoing project, Leo made sure to answer and correct pretty quickly. He definitely cares about upholding a good reputation and genuinely cares for your renovation as if it was his own.

We are satisfied of the final product. We have lots more room for our growing family of two kids and two dogs to play and roam around.

I called Better Place to do a quote on my driveway. I was given an appointmnt. Leo the project manager came. I told him exactly what I wanted to be done. After he did the measurements he showed us pictures and sample of the finished product they did which I was especially impressed. After we agreed for the price the project started right away. While this company may not have the best prices you definitely get what you pay for. Bar took time the time and personnel approach to my project which was pavers in my backyard. Our backyard needed a lot of TLC. Fortunately for us, we got to work with Ofek, who was an amazing Project Manager who walked us through the entire process. He was very thorough, professional and very easy to talk to. During our initial consultation, he took measurements and drew up a quick sketch to give us an idea of how it was going to look like. He gave us a quote and walked us through the financing process. He gave us an estimated timeline from start to completion and made sure we were 100% satisfied with the price and the look we wanted to achieve before his team got started. Our backyard was mostly uneven dirt and our drainage was somewhere buried due to all the rain. They fixed everything! They leveled the dirt, fixed the drainage system and the pavers look amazing!!! The rock borders make it even more pleasing to the eyes! Ofek, Arturo and their team truly exceeded our expectations. We can finally enjoy our outdoor space! Additionally, Ofek made himself available to answer all our questions and concerns during the entire process. He replied to our messages very quickly! He was definitely on top of things! They got everything done in less than a week! Additionally, his crew even hauled away our junk that was stored in our backyard! Truly a pleasure to work with and we are forever grateful to Ofek and his team of dedicated workers!

Better Place remodeling did a great job on our patio and walkway.
The cement looks great, as does the retaining wall and sod that they did.
Our project manager Joe oversaw our project and made sure that everything, no matter how small, was done to our liking.
The employees are very knowledgeable and took their time to make sure everything was perfect.

I was incredibly surprised that a company comes back and made things right. This is an update from my previous review for Better Place. They contacted me concerning my issues and assured me that they would get fixed.. & they did!
Like I said at first overall great company seems like we just had a miscommunication. All my concerning issues have been addressed, we are now happy and will definitely keep Better Place in mind for our future renovations.
